Quan la tieta Gloria i el seu fill Salim venen a Londres des de Manchester, camí cap a Nova York, es queden a la casa de la germana de Gloria, Faith, que viu amb el seu marit i els seus fills, Kat, una noia adolescent, i Ted, de 12 anys i una mica especial.
