The Strange Case of Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde tells the story of Dr Henry Jekyll, a respected scientist in London who is fascinated by the idea that human beings have both a good and an evil side. He develops a chemical formula that allows him to transform into another identity: Mr Edward Hyde.
At first, Jekyll enjoys the freedom of living as Hyde, since Hyde can act without moral rules or consequences. However, Hyde gradually becomes more violent and uncontrollable, and Jekyll starts losing control over his transformations.
As strange events and crimes take place in London, Jekylls friends, especially Mr Utterson, begin to investigate the connection between Jekyll and the mysterious Hyde. Eventually, they discover the truth: Jekyll and Hyde are the same person.
The story explores themes such as the duality of human nature, morality, identity, and the dangers of scientific experimentation without limits. It shows how separating good and evil can lead to destruction.
